The Laboratory of Finance (FINLAB) is an interdisciplinary academic research institute of University of Cassino and Southern Italy, where researchers with different backgrounds work together. It represents the link among the different departments, easing an interdisciplinary approach.
Finlab serves as a knowledge financial hub and has a particular expertise in the innovative financing.
Its aim is:
creating specific knowledge in the financial sector, with particular attention to innovative financial instruments;
spreading some guidelines on specific areas ( bond issues, debt rescheduling, project finance, real estate securitization, cost of capital);
establishing a database on the main experiences of financial innovation;
Furthermore, Finlab, conducts research projects on innovative finance models for firms, in particular SME, to create new models that represent new business opportunities
Finlab collaborates on HeritageBot that is a project of technological and market valuation of the implicit content and explicit knowledge of patents in the robotic field through the implementation of service systems for cultural heritage and the development of services for the operational application (industrial, cultural, educational) to identify technology solutions. Within the project Finlab is involved in studying the financing choice of innovative start-ups and spin-off that operate in cultural heritage, focusing on innovative finance models.
Finlab is a partner of a interuniversity spin-off, Financefor, which is an e-platform that offers valuation model for firms. In particular Finlab has elaborate a particular evaluation models to estimate the cost of capital of unlisted companies.
