Ecological Movement of Stefan Voda from Moldova, situated in South-East of Europe, is a non-governmental organization with rich background of finished projects from large spectrum of funders. NGO aims to protect and rehabilitate the environment, enhance the level of environmental education of the young generation and promote enforcement of environmental legislation. Alongside 20 years of activity, we got a greater range of activities in the youth and the large public environment, through the dissemination of ecological operative information, basic data about the environment, ecological rich library, technical equipment, access to international sources eco-informative, own museum space that has become a true Center of Information, Consulting and Environmental Education.
During the last years Climate Change has become a threat for environment, for sustainable development, mitigation and adaption measures to this should become a priority for International, national and local policies. A lot of districts, localities are still not informed about Climate Change consequences and are not ready to action when natural hazards happens. Within funding programs and different funding agencies we, EM Stefan Voda, elaborated Environment Action Plans South East Moldovan Districts. The general objectives were strengthen the capacities of adaptation to climate change and to increase the awareness and involvement of local government and civil society in drafting the Local Action Plan on Climate Change Adaptation in localities.
Summarising our characterisation, we can say that we have rich experience in awareness of civil society and LPAs, and can use and share our good practices for awareness of disaster risk and emergency management decision makers;
