Partner offer (competences/expertise)

We are a research group works on fundamental and applied research for exploration of metallic and non-metallic raw materials. We are interested in particpate as partners in consortia in exploration, or provide advance training in geology, geochemistry, thermodynamics and geochronology applied to raw material mineral deposits.

Our expertise ranges from cutting-edge instrumental techniques for compositional and mineral characterizations, stable and radiogenic isotope fingerprinting of rocks, minerals and other raw materials, thermodynamic modelling, and U-Pb geochronology of accessories minerals for absolute dating and provenance studies applied to economical mineral deposits. These data provide key information of the formation of raw material deposits and can be integrated in the exploration as for guidelines for exploration of raw materials.

We have competences on basic and applied research in metallic (PGEs, chromite, base metals) and nonmetallic raw materials (REEs mineral deposits) oriented to provide understanding of the formation of raw material deposits and provide guidelines for exploration. Our group has the following expertise:
1) Field work, petrological and thermodynamic modelling applied to hydrothermal fluids and ore deposits.
2) Cutting-edge instrumental techniques for compositional and mineral characterizations, stable and radiogenic isotope (Sr-Nd-Pb) analyses of rocks, minerals and fluids other raw materials. Including concentration of critical metals to sub-ppb levels in whole rock (traces, metals and Platinum Group Elements) via ICP-MS and LA-ICP-MS in indiviudal phases.
3) U-Pb geochronology of accessories minerals (zircon, rutile, REE phosphates, apatite, etc..) for absolute dating of deposits and for provenance studies applied to targeting and exploration of new raw material deposits.
4) Automatic characterization of grade, size composition of raw materials by EDS-EBSD SEM in rocks and mine tailings for exploration and/or recovering of raw materials from abandoned mine sites.
